Full Gallery Membership

Highwire is a member-run artist’s collective with a gallery on the rapidly developing Frankford Avenue Arts Corridor.  Member artists have a full gallery solo show once every 18 months and participate in one or more group shows each year.  Artists benefit from a presence on the Highwire website and the pre-show publicity that comes with the gallery’s extensive mailing list and established presence in the community.

Highwire is a member-run organization, with artists curating and programming all events.  Membership is open to those who do not have commercial gallery representation and who are actively pursuing contemporary issues.  Artists develop their work independently and are encouraged to take risks and experiment while working in a collective environment.

Upon acceptance there is a one-time initiation fee of $150 and monthly dues are $80.  Members are required to sit once per month, attend monthly meetings and contribute to committee work as needed.

Associate Membership

Highwire Gallery’s associate member program is designed to be an affordable alternative to full gallery membership, yet still offer artists opportunities for exhibition, promotion and sales.  Associate Members will participate in an annual Associate Member show and in Highwire Group shows. Associates will also have a link to their personal website or Facebook page on the Highwire Gallery website.  Dues are $35 per month.  Associates are required to gallery sit during the Associate Member show.

How to Apply:

You may apply for either Regular or Associate Membership by sending an e-mail to highwiregallery@gmail.com.  In the subject please state either “Full Membership Application” or “Associate Member Application”. The e-mail should include a minimum of four photographs (pdf or jpg format) of recent work along with a brief biography and an artist’s statement.  Applicants may be asked to bring samples of their work to the gallery, and to meet and discuss their work with gallery members.
